Electric Generation From Tyre

Automobile manufacturers have realized the fact that new era of electricity powered vehicles is the future. Efforts are being put to develop a most effective and efficient electric vehicle, but the downside of existing electric vehicle is the range upto which they can operate, unlike petrol and diesel vehicles. The following project attempts to overcome this disadvantage by implementing a technique of continuously recharging the battery of the automobile with no expense of energy, this can be achieved by utilizing the property of piezoelectric material.  
 
Piezoelectric material is a transducer which induces electric energy upon action of stress. This project aims at developing a special tyres which are incorporated with piezoelectric transducer and a mechanism to harvest the produced electricity as wheels move on the ground , this energy can be sent to battery either to recharge it or it can be used in automobile lighting or to any such region which was earlier powered by main battery. Thus by developing this piezo based tyre we can improve the overall efficiency of the battery and inturn increase the range of the automobile.
