SEEDS SOWING MACHINE WITH FERTILIZER AND PESTICIDE SPRAYER
Cropping is a significant activity in agriculture practice, where the process is lengthy and it needs more workers. Manual method of seed placement results in difficulties in achieving uniformity of seed distribution, low seed placement, less spacing efficiency (gaping and bunching of seed) and serious back ache to the farmer. Therefore, it is important to search for efficient, simple, cost effective and multipurpose machine to replace manual seed sowing, fertilizer and pesticide spraying activity. Thus we propose the design and fabrication of “Semi-automatic multipurpose seed sowing machine with fertilizer and pesticide sprayer” that automates the task of seed sowing, supplying fertilizer and sheltering the seed and pesticide spraying at yield time to reduce farmer’s effort, increase the efficiency and accuracy of seed sowing. The aim of our project is to design and develop a multi-purpose seed sowing machine with fertilizer and pesticide sprayer for mixed farming purpose. Agriculture is the backbone of India and the is the second major revenue contributor next to service sector. Earlier Indian farmers used conventional methods for seed sowing but now a days farmers use recent technology and modern equipment for seed sowing purpose. The main disadvantages of these modern equipment is high cost and also facing the problem in usage of these equipment. At present, seed sowing machines are available in the industry for sowing large quantity of crops. But small scale farmers cannot afford them because of their high cost. Therefore, it is important to search for a simple, efficient, low-cost machine to replace manual and conventional methods of seed sowing. Our multi-purpose seed sowing machine is designed and made semi-automatic to sow different types of seeds and assist in mixed farming. In this work we are planning to reduce the man power required for manual seed sowing. We also aiming to integrate various agriculture operations such as seed sowing, fertilizer application, soil compaction and pesticide spraying in the same machine. This might help us reaching our goal by reducing the man power as well as cost.
